Seun Smith obtained her LL.B from Obafemi Awolowo University and was called to the Nigerian Bar before moving to Canada. She has over 8 years of experience in civil litigation, international arbitration and corporate/commercial transactions across various industries.

Seun was assessed to write five exams by the NCA due to her background from a common law jurisdiction and she completed all five exams in one diet. She is also an instructor at Bow Valley College where she teaches Canadian Professional Responsibility under an Alberta funded program in partnership with Directions for Immigrants in Trades & Professions.

Idayat Balogun

Funto  is  an  alumnus  of  the  University  of  Ibadan,  Nigeria  and  the  University  of  Warwick, United Kingdom; where she obtained an LL.B Degree in Law and an LL.M in International Corporate Governance and Financial Regulation respectively. She was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2009 and was Co-Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Section on Business Law – Young Lawyers Forum from 2016 to 2018.

She is a dynamic Business and Commercial Lawyer who has diverse experience across the various sectors of corporate law, specifically in the Health, Energy, Property and Probate Sectors of Law. She was actively involved in structuring Public Private Partnerships (PPP) between clients in the health sector and the Nigerian Government. Being active in the legal and medical spaces she had to ensure that her team observed a strict adherence to the ethical and professional responsibility standards.

She is a pro-active and highly motivated individual with exceptional people skills, who can work in a self-servicing environment or within a team to achieve optimum results.

Muftau graduated from Olabisi Onabanjo University Ago Iwoye in 2004 and was called to the Nigerian bar in 2005. He has since been in active practice of law and became a partner at Connaissance Legal Practitioners in Lagos Nigeria, before relocating to Canada. He is self-motivated and result oriented with a penchant for exceeding expectations.
